Holy Smokes!

Hey kids. It has been a very long time since my last post. I've been pretty busy with work and all of that as of late, and have not really had the time nor the desire/energy to come on here and write anything. This isn't really going to be anything of substance -- more just an update of sorts.
Anyway, I am indeed going to UCSB in the fall to study political theory. I have a TAship for one quarter, which will cover tuition, health insurance, and bring in a little extra cash that quarter. I'm still waiting on hearing back from the environmental studies department about a TAship with them for another quarter. Hopefully that will work out and I'll only have to pay for fall quarter this year. I'm pretty excited about starting a new program and getting to work with new people. I will really miss a lot of people at the New School, but I think this change is for the better. I'll be getting more one on one attention and direction at UCSB. It is also nice to be paying a whole lot less.
We've poked around a bit looking for apartments, but can't really do anything until late summer. It seems like prices are comparable to Brooklyn. The buildings seem to be a lot newer out there and most come with wall to wall carpet. However, the jobs don't really seem to pay as much so things may be a bit tight for a while. Regardless, we are both really glad to be getting back to California. New York will always have a place in my heart, but most of our family is out on the Pacific and that's really a priority for the both of us right now. Also totally stoked to be near some good friends -- especially the Chapmans (soon to be expanding to a three piece outfit). I suppose that's all for now.
