One Busy Quarter

Okay, so I didn't post about my adventures in TAing last week. Sorry about that. Just went over Machiavelli. Nothing fantastic. Apparently the fascist has a soft spot for gender equality. This is good, I guess he wouldn't mind being dominated by a male, female, or transgender individual. He actually wasn't in class this week, so we didn't get to hear how he feels about philosopher-kings. Which actually is too bad, because despite my strongly disagreeing with his views he does engage in conversation. I say this because this past week (discussing Plato's Republic) was actually quite sad. There wasn't much conversation. I didn't have to let them out early or anything, there were just quite a few moments of awkward silence. Hopefully next week will be much better. We'll be reviewing for the midterm which will include everything we've covered so far (non-philosophical justifications for authority, the anarchists, Machiavelli and Plato) along with Hobbes who we will be covering this coming week. I told the students to come with questions and ideas to discuss in preparation for the exam. We'll see how that goes.
In other news, I got paid this week. We purchased a sofa with our new found wealth. It should be delivered by the end of next week. Thus, you all are welcome to come to our apartment and sit on the new sofa. Up to this point, guests were forced to sit in THE chair or on the floor.
We've also had to get quite a bit of work done on the car recently, but it should all be over soon. Spent a ton of money, but I suppose that's what you do when you have a car. Anyway, I guess that's about all I have to say for now.
