Just another week

Last week was pretty uneventful, not to say that it wasn't a good one. My dad was in town for a couple days so I got to hang out with him for a little bit. We saw Mike Meyers walking down the street at one point. That was sort of exciting I suppose. Mostly because my brother loves So I Married an Axe Murderer. So I was stoked to tell him about that. We ate Burmese food that night, which is really really delicious if you haven't had it.
Next week I have to go pick up our tickets for Belle & Sebastian on the 4th. Also, we're going to see the new Superman flick on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to that, in the same way that I looked forward to each of the new Star Wars movies (only I've heard that this one is actually awesome).
I'm not really sure what to do with myself for the rest of this weekend. We need to get laundry done, but I don't feel like doing it by myself -- plus it's raining. To people that have their own washers and dryers this may seem like the perfect time to do laundry. However, when living in an urban environment rain makes doing anything quite difficult. Oh well. I'm kind of just enjoying sitting around the apartment listening to music and watching the rain out the window. Don't get to do that very often. Sure, it's basically what I do at work every day, but that doesn't count. Anyway, I'm out for now.

Theologian Quiz

According to my brother everyone is doing this. I guess that means I should too.

You scored as Anselm. Anselm is the outstanding theologian of the medieval period. He sees man's primary problem as having failed to render unto God what we owe him, so God becomes man in Christ and gives God what he is due. You should read 'Cur Deus Homo?'

June

Ok, I'm back in action. I've uploaded the images for the blog onto the UCSB server, if you actually bothered looking you may have seen that we were image free for over a month due to the cancellation of my Earthlink account. I should have this current space for a few years now.
In recent news, we've been living with Mark and Brandi Thorsby for a little over a month. Things are going well with the living situation. The fridge is small, but that seems to be the only problem really. Kaleena and I finally went on our honeymoon a couple weeks ago. We visited the Puerto Plata region in the Dominican Republic. If you ever get a chance to visit, I suggest that you do. We saw so many beautiful places and met so many wonderful people. I have pictures from the trip that need to be uploaded, but that probably won't get done for a while.
As far as the move to Santa Barbara goes, nothing has really been accomplished in recent weeks. I did however receive the fall schedule. Classes look alright. Most likely I'll be doing a lot of work with the philosophy department. The only problem is that I also have to fulfill my minor requirements within the political science department. Furthermore, I really need to start figuring out what I'm going to be writing my dissertation on. I remember when I first arrived at New School, I would meet PhD students (who had been there for a few years) who still hadn't really narrowed down what they were writing on. I now completely understand their situation, but I do not want to find myself in it. For this reason, I want to work on having a general idea for my proposal by the end of this first year. Hopefully that will allow me to bring it into focus over the summer and defend the following year. Haha. I'm imagining myself reading this a year from now and laughing at my own naivite. Oh well.
I definitely do want to post on here more often. Hopefully entries of substance. I can't really do it while I'm at work, and the evenings are spent figuring out dinner and then relaxing for a short while before falling asleep. That still leaves the weekends and I am going to sincerely attempt to make use of the small amount of time that I have on the weekends to post more frequently. If anyone has any suggestions for topics, let me know.
